NEWS ON THE 2016 REUNION To Be Held August 24th-28th CANCELLED

This is a message that I had hoped would not have to be sent out but is necessary because of the very small number of Walker Alumni that registered for the reunion.

This years reunion in Nashville has been "cancelled".  We could not wait any longer and still expect those who did register to not loose a lot of money.

For those who did register, you will need to call the Hotel and cancel your reservation.  Sherry from A Complete Reunion has cancelled the contract with the Hotel and the Tour Company.  You will get your money back from A Complete Reunion minus their registration fee per person.

We are looking at holding a combined reunion with the USS Jenkins sometime next year.  They are having the same problem we are.  They are not getting any younger and are having fewer Jenkins sailors show up each year.  Please let me know what you think about a combined reunion.  The Jenkins was in the same squadron as the Walker and was our sister ship.

NEWS ON THE 2015 REUNION Held October 4th-7th

I want to thank the 5 Walker Sailors ( Al Meeds, Gary Predit, Hurd Armstrong, Ken Wilson, Doug Damron) and their family members who attended the Walker reunion in Eugene Oregon. The 9 who were there had a great time and I know that my wife and I saw parts of the United States we had never seen before. At the business meeting we decided that our next reunion would be held in Nashville Tennessee in Sep 2016. As soon as I know the exact dates I will let every one know.

I know that different reasons get in the way of some attending the reunions but it would really be appreciated if those that can attend show up. If the attendance at the reunions does not improve or continues to drop we will have no choice but to stop holding reunions. Any suggestions on how to hold a better reunion would be greatly appreciated.
